Long range professional wireless security / surveillance cameras are now available from TTS Fire and Security Ltd. which offer virtually wire free solutions over many kilometres. This provides an ideal system for large commercial sites and shopping centres, car parks etc. requiring only a local mains supply for each camera position. Full frame and bandwidth enables true video without any degradation from the original camera quality. The system may use almost any suitable camera and lens arrangement and the pictures are fed back by radio using the 1.3 Ghz band allowing for a range of around 5 kilometres depending on terrain. A return control option is also available allowing for tilt, pan, zoom etc. and up to 4 camera systems can share the same frequency allocation. Proprietary signal processing
systems can handle the camera sequence and dwell time for image recording
to time lapse etc. More importantly this system can save a small fortune
over conventional wired systems and can have designs of system which would
be virtually impossible to reproduce by wired
Software is available to upload "live" picture information to the internet so that the system can be monitored remotely if required.

These video data are digitized, captured with date and time, compressed and kept in a PC hard disk as a file for later tracking. No more round the clock recording on videotape like conventional surveillance systems.
